Bullet hell shooters or Danmaku has been around for a long time like R-Type, Phalanx and Gradius to newer ones like Sine Mora and anything by Cave. Crescent moon though has now touched the waters with Operation Dracula, a retro shump that feels and looks like the classic SNES titles and the arcades. It's a great title for the hardcore yet also for newcomers with it's easy mode though you can't beat the final boss on easy. I touched on the game in a early preview and can easily say get it now. Great thing about danmaku games is remembering patterns but also skill. You have a good amount of characters, each one being different and a secret character once you beat the game with the other characters but good luck with that challenge. Music is a perfect match of rock music that never lets go and also includes a music player if you want to continue to jam out. Bosses are massive and take up the entire screen as do the bullets they shoot so be prepared to use your special or a bomb to clear them away. If you collect power ups for your main weapon it does increase with power and speed but if destroyed then you are going to go back to the basic tier so once again skill use is key. Final thoughts: Crescent Moon has proven it's a force to be reckon with when it comes to the many genres it does constantly proving to be the go to developer on mobile devices today. Operation Dracula is an amazing game with everything you could ask for in a BulletHell shooter with extra things on the side for good measure. Question is what HAVEN'T they covered yet..better yet what will they think of next?
