So just after the recently released God Eater vita remaster of God Eater, the sequel gets released but I got to say one thing: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE INTRO? It's Youtube quality and that is bad for the full price game unlike the 19.99 Hod Eater which had a better quality intro. That aside lets get into this review. The game starts you as a member of Blood squad an elite group that takes down the monsters and graphics do look great. The characters look vibrant though for being in a new area, battfields look the same but luckily battles get hectic quick and fast you won't notice much. The characters in my opinion are more likeable and still shady at the same time but the story is stronger.
Gameplay is pretty much the same as the first but with an added Blood attacks but it doesn't add THAT much of a difference into the game but the effects look neat. After unlocking them you can keep attacking and get the next rank and so forth. A nitpick of mine is most missions are a re-hash of the first like dealing with a specific creature though 2 does have new ones which is great and needed. A new feature is Hard missions which just breaks up the story battles for a change so you can stock up on upgrade items and I think the upgrade system is better in 2. In the first game it seemed too easy to rank up your weapons but not in 2. To counter that there is an added crafting option: arc mods. After every mission you get 3 arc items to put with the weapon of choice it fits into with abilities like HP up and ATK up.
Audio does seemed compressed a bit and while it doesn't affect the game, it does make you wonder how a 20$ game is better than a 40$ game with that aspect. The game loads pretty quick and never noticed any lag when facing off against 5 creatures at the same time. I would recommend God Eater series though in my opinion compared to Freedom Wars and the A.I is just as good as they were in the remaster. The story is strong and twist and turns happen but gameplay is the selling point.
Score 8.0 Out Of 10
+ Same game new features
Crafting seems to be changed slightly for the better
Great cast of characters
-Same game same missions at times
That intro
