Ok call me skeptical when first hearing that a huggggge 360/PS3/PC called Borderlands 2 was coming to Vita in fact you can say I laughed a bit. The game spans worlds and worlds and with the DLC they DID manage to come with it via voucher code I will say they managed pretty good....but just pretty good.
Graphics: if you played the 360 etc. versions then don't expect they didn't have to cut corners cause they did. Graphic pop ups, loooong loading and a few small other things had to be cut down which is not shocking. What they did to make it work is great cause this also includes cross-save (which I can't do cause no ps3) but they did cut co-op to just 2 instead of the regular 4 players (raid bosses might be tougher). The characters still look awesome and areas are still in fact huge so hey at least it's not Border-Halflands 2.
Sound: EXPLSOIONSSSSSS!!!! Also they sound good at least that does but audio cut off from running and talking is also noticeable....a lot. If Jack or other characters talk it could be interrupted or cut off by an enemy shooting at you or another character decided to talk. The music is just as great and has me singing the intro song (never played this so I'm late to the party). I did notice a few times after shooting a gun it did make a sound late but only a few.
Gameplay: still the same Borderlands you know and love with loot hoarding and blowing up Sh!t now compact size. The funny thing is that a bug from the PS3 wondered into the Vita which is lootsplosion from the Carnage DLC which means you don't get the loot at the end of beating Piston. Other bugs include: Freezing, crashing in certain areas most noticeable in Three Horns. There's more but it's a long list but nothing too major. I feel though that some of the PS3 problems should have been fixed but we may never get that or the other campaign DLC. There is no PSN items for those and we maybe just have to use cross-saving to experience those. Of course beating the game unlocks True Vault Hunter mode which means harder enemies and you keep your level and items.
Presentation: everything is here...mostly and they did fit every button to vita including the dreaded back buttons which can be turned down for sensitivity which is useful. This game is huge and it shows for vita as it chugs it's way as you play so save often though that requires quitting so enjoy the loading. This could be better but I doubt we will see patching and other improvements for this. Lag does happen within menus and firefights but hey it's handheld.
Verdict: a decent port but problems are common in here and some are gamebreaking so if you never played Borderlands 2 well now is the chance but I will say stick to PS3 and other systems.
Score 7.0
Pros: it's Borderlands 2
EXPLOSIONS!!!!
Tiny Tina is just as awesome
Cons: graphic pop ups, freezing, long loading and missing DLC hurt the experience.
