A game that hits it on the head...so to speak is crafted by a thing of beauty and wit that Ripstone and Zoink! have molded and shaped up to be a platformer, with a hint of Doublefine and Rocko's Modern Life. You are Ray Doewood just living your daily life, when something hits you on the head and suddenly you have a hand on your head. Your girlfriend thinks your crazy and so does everyone else in the world, with guys in suits looking to get you. The neat thing about the game is the gameplay centered around a paper like world.....and a hand on your head.
You have the ability to read people's minds and that comes in handy since you will need it to solve the puzzles of people's problems in this chapter based world. Thought bubbles can be used as objects like Zzzzz to make a guard sleep so you can get past him or to use it to give a dog back their "bite". The areas are broken up to one big area each and your either in your mind or trying to escape the insane asylum to name a few. Presentation is really good as there's not a lot of menus to navigate and it's pretty simple to play once you get into it.
Voice work is great and stands out as well as the music and it doesn't let up or slow you down. The paper like graphics look great though seem a tad blurred on vita but it's not a hamper on gameplay at all. The comedy is pretty funny and is in everything and does have the DoubleFine humor even if it's not a DoubleFine game. Using the elements around you is a neat tool which never gets old which I'm glad because some back tracking is needed but nothing like Devil May Cry but just enough to keep you on your toes.
With the unusual gameplay of Stick It To The Man, Ripstone and Zoink! have nailed what makes an adventure game fun with the humor and the style that's pretty original. Voice work, music and the atmosphere keeps the game going strong and you could easily play the game over and over again and is a rare find on the Vita system.
