Music games have been quite a hit on playstation since the days of Dance Dance Revoultion to Rock Band. Music is just something that we all enjoy and PM studios knows that hence the spritual successor of DJ Max Portable 3 is coming to the Vita real soon like November 10th soon. I am going over a few things for fans and new players alike.
DJ Max had about 50 songs total and was a neat concept of a game that alot of music fans enjoyed. Well Superbeat:XONiC takes it up a few levels while toning down a few things but still manages to make it new. Music videos are gone and replaced with a visual style that something you might see at a dance party. You have 3 stage modes which range from basic to advanced listed as: 4 Trax,6 Trax and 6TraxFx with another mode called Freestyle that lets you play tracks from stage in any order. 4Trax is basic with just a few button combinations to use and 6Trax uses 6 total with 3 on each side. 6TraxFx uses 6 sides plus the use or the L and R buttons.
There are tons of genres from Trance Core, Rave and Sludge Metal. Some easy and some on the level of 9,000 kinda hard but there is a catch that can help: your profile picture. Yep something that isn't just a picture to look cool it does include boosting factors like HP 100 and exp 30 which means longer health meter and a 30% exp increase. There is alot to collect but no music videos or wallpapers this time but there is a ton to unlock. DJ pictures for boost and sounds for your beats when hitting notes.
Last mode is World Tour that is a mode just for experts so don't worry if you can't do a combo of 4000 on a 5 track set since songs can be earned when leveling up every so often. There is the fever mode which stays until you mess up that creates a fever combo at the end of each song and difficulty mode changes the amount you get. There are 3 modes of difficulty with easy, normal and hard but another one is tempo with the lowest being easy and highest pretty hard.
If you like what you hear so far then watch out for the full review soon.
