Aksys Games has their franchise on Vita for the first time, but is it a knockout or does it lose?
Graphics: Ok first thing first. This is the best looking 2-D fighter I repeat BEST LOOKING. Hand drawn characters with fluid motion from all 19 fighters and bright effects from the moves you can pull off. Arc System is not new to this has their other franchise Guilty Gear was know for the same in some aspects as well. CGs can be a bit blurry since this is a port but still look great to watch along with all the pictures you unlock or buy in the gallery.
Sound: A rocking soundtrack is it's focal point but at times maybe a bit to loud and overshadows the great voice work they put in at times but only just a bit. I turned up the speaking and lowered the music but that's just me.
Gameplay: From the start there's TONS of options ranging from basic arcade to the big story mode where the best part is at. Manga inspired story filled with twist and turns and drags you in till it's done and does a fantastic job at that. New modes Abyss and Unlimited Mars are Vita exclusive along with a new character who also uses a puppet like his son. My gripe is unless you want all the story from the series, just get the newest one has it seems sadly each release just gets a new character or two and a few tweaks unless you just want to collect the series.
Final Verdict: With loads of game modes and online multiplayer for a great price of 14.99, it's hard to pass up as this is the biggest 2-D fighter on vita so far. Sure TekkenXStreet Fighter has more characters but this is just a huge game. If you like Arc System's work or just love fighting games, well it's an easy pick.
Score 9.0 out of 10
Pros: great graphics
Loading times aren't bad
Very colorful
Cons: Music may be too loud by default settings
Some blurriness on cutscenes
