Stealth genre has been done in alot of games over the years but a certain game Called Metal Gear paved the way for stealth to not only be..well about sneaking but have a strong story. Mike Bithell one uped this by doing the narritive slightly different but even stronger which you will know why by the endgame.
You are Rob Locksley ( yes it is a Robin Hood of the future) who steals from the wealthy and powerful and while not giving riches to the poor, but giving the followers a voice but with doing this it does create consquences. Story does involve a few cutscenes here and there but more-so with notes and memos scattered about VR levels. Gameplay is just like the MGS:VR on the PS1 but less punchy and more 007 (thanks to one trophy name).
Gadgets include a figment which creates an illusion of a running person or one of my go to ones called the blackjack which stuns the pawns and other patrols. A neat thing is the dogs you come across won't be so keen on a certain gadget you get later on so you will have to get their attention first before using it. Now you are not alone in your journey and with you is an A.I named Alan who doesn't really know what he is doing at first but his story is great because it's human.
Voice acting is spot on and Gisborne reminds me of the villian in the comedy version of Robin Hood (great film btw go see it) yet can be pretty crude. The one thing I can nitpick is I wish you could replay the cutscenes and story segments without having to start over. Graphics have took quiet a hit over the other versions but with quick loading and the style of gameplay it should still be a no brainer to get this.
Another big part of the game is online and editing of a simulation. Online part is the local community levels plus staff picks. Some are pretty awesome and others are "first timers" but the creation aspect is so easy to get into that I wouldn't be surprised to see mini games like a full blown Pac-Man in the game (not to say there isn't one already).
Final comments: The soundtrack is amazing and you will hear the alert one more times than you care to but Volume is an amazing Masterpiece that Bithell has created and it is hard to choose which game is betterbetween Volume and TWA. I did get a few crashes one just on start up and another during play but I have put in alot of hours in this and with how heavy the game is, I can say that is a good thing. Also note with Vita only players: Trophies can only be obtained by means of Wifi so if you don't get any just make sure it's on.
Score 10 out of 10
Pros: Stealth gameplay at it's best
Cool gadgets
Custom maps
Cons: Wish we could rewatch scenes without starting over.
