Ok we all understand the SFV saga since release yet it hasn't been their first time giving you nothing for something and releasing newer "versions" of a fighting game on disc. It has happened since SNES days but since it didn't have a store or online back then, we didn't care. Yet ever since PS3/360 days, that has ever so changed. Let us start with MVC3.
A game that came out with little content, god awful story mode and the online was a joke. A promised Spectator Mode was to be added via patch yet nothing...that is till 9 months later. That is when UMVC3 came out and shocker it had Spectator Mode. 9months though and not even a year. Also TekkenXStreet Fighter there was a big issue. Besides online being bad (shock face) there was locked DLC also modes were a little sparse but not as bad as MVC3.
Street Fighter Alpha had to be the worse though. A whopping 10 characters which was less than in SF2T. Though it was the first game of that series, it was lacking heavy in a few deparments. Now UMVC3 is a great game minus rooster placement and story which was 3 lines total but....
Mortal Kombat 9: A very meaty game which tons of modes like Tag Mode or Test Your Luck, list goes on to say why it is a better game than SFV modes. Yea graphics are awesome in 5 but lets face it: you keep buying unfinished games Capcom will keep making unfinished games. By the way it seems to be only fighting games. I don't have any idea why with Street Fighter being a huge legacy and with the way Capcom treats the fans it's obsured. The only reason for this early release has to be Evo and other future places as those.
Street Fighter is better than what they released I would say the same about Capcom but it is plain to see they are worse. I know online in fighting games can be a hard battle to keep stable but when it's a yearly cycle of it being bad, change something to make it better. Also on release with future fighters: add an arcade mode and stop selling your game as an invesment. Pay one price for the game another price for DLC. If people have to pay for an arcade mode well then you failed as developers/publishers because there is no excuse to have released it yet or at all. 90% of sales isn't from EVO/Online only crowd.
